The Importance of Giving

Thomas Jefferson has developed a tradition of academic excellence, fine arts achievements, and athletic accomplishments.

The School depends on tuition and gifts to meet its expenses to keep these TJ traditions going. Tuition alone comprises only 80% of the School's operating budget. TJ's operating budget depends upon philanthropy to bridge the gap between tuition and the real cost of educating students. Revenue to reduce the remainder of expenses comes from two major charitable enterprises: Annual Giving, and the annual gala dinner and auction Escapade, which takes place in the spring.
