Thomas Jefferson Upper School students compete in dozens of math competitions during the school year. The contests include NEO Math Day in Miami, OK, the Ozark 7 Math and Science Competition, the Pummill Math Relays in Springfield, and the Pittsburg State Math Relays in Pittsburg Kansas. Lower School and Middle School students also compete in several math competitions including MathCounts, MCTM Elementary Mathematics Regional Contest, SBU Math Contest, and others.
Imagine, research, design, create and present your own machines, mini-buildings, stories, skits, props, and/or costumes with a team of your friends. Put it all together in your own Challenge Solution. This is Destination Imagination. Destination Imagination is an international organization with local competitions. Commitment: Fridays after school in November and December, Spring Semester M-W-F DI elective (this is at the same time as the Middle School play elective), and some Saturday work days.
