The French Club is designed to enhance the classroom experience by promoting culture: food tasting, movies, games, video clips, etc. The French Club consists of 3 officers elected by their peers: President, Treasurer and Secretary. Usually the President is a member of the Senior Class. The Club has an annual membership fee that covers the costs of food items, bulletin board decorations, DVDs, and seniors’ gifts among other things. The Club officers organize the meetings themes, the holidays’ parties, field trips, community service events, fundraising events and sponsorship of Doctors without Borders (charitable organization).
The main calendar events are: National French Week (1st week in November), holidays’ celebrations in winter and spring and representation at the school’s international fair in February. The Club is open to all interested in the French Culture without the requirement of taking French classes. All French students are required to be members of the French Club.
