Tablet PCs at TJ

Upper School students (grades 9 - 12) are issued a Tablet PC to use while they are enrolled at TJ.  They keep the computers until they leave TJ, and have the opportunity to purchase the computers at fair market value when they graduate.

Middle School students use Tablet PCs in some of their classes each day.  Daily usage and enhanced computer offerings ensure that they will be well-prepared for Upper School (when they will have full-time use of their own Tablet PC.)

Lower School classes regularly use the Tablet PCs from the computer lab in teaching academic subjects.  Fifth graders have increased opportunities to use the Tablet PCs as they prepare for Middle School.

A Spectacular Deal for TJ Parents, Grandparents, and Alumni
Tablet PCs available to TJ parents, grandparents and alumni at volume-discounted price

Parents, grandparents, and alumni may purchase the same Toshiba M750 convertible notebook/tablet PC that TJ students use, at the same volume discount rate at which the school purchased the computers.   The price (detailed features listed below) is approximately $1,600.  The configuration available is excellent for college students and most business applications because it has a powerful processor, 2 GB of memory, a large hard drive, a DVD/CD writer, and an excellent battery.  Options you may want to add include an upgraded warranty, theft protection, additional memory, and accessories such as carrying cases, docking stations (Toshiba calls them port replicators), external keyboards, extra batteries, and extra pens.

To Order:
Toshiba has offered the volume discount pricing to TJ parents, grandparents, and alumni, subject to the following conditions:

  1. Orders must be made through TJ’s  CDWG representative (Erik Steffen)
  2. Only the M-750 is eligible for the discounted price (no desktop computer orders, or other notebook/tablet models)
  3. Orders must be placed with Erik Steffen before May 15, 2009.
  4. Order Accessories and Cases by giving the part number on the Available Accessories List. (PDF)
  5. Orders must be for the same configuration purchased by TJ (optional upgrades can be made, but other equipment can’t be changed)
  6. Place orders by calling Erik Steffen at (866) 339-3645 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mon. – Fri.

CDWG's offer to take the orders directly from TJ parents, grandparents, and alumni is exceptional, and the school appreciates their handling of the entire order process including payment details.  In order to ensure free shipping, the computers will be sent to the school, and we will notify you once they arrive.
