TJ’s Vibrant Theatrical Performance and Drama Program

At Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School, we believe the performing arts are crucial to your child’s overall liberal arts education. That is why we offer abundant opportunities for your child to be active in Theatrical Performance and Drama throughout their years at TJ.

From increasing confidence to helping your child to think creatively, participating in Theatrical Performance and Drama improves your child’s academic performance.

At every grade level, children participate in several concerts each year. Lower School students produce a summer musical, and Middle and Upper School students produce spring and fall musicals. Middle School students also have the opportunity to participate in dramatic performance as an elective class.

Our high-quality productions are a source of entertainment for our community as well as family and friends of our TJ students. Please visit our Concert Calendar for upcoming events.

Musicals performed in public by TJ students each year

“The ability to take AP Music Theory and AP Spanish my senior year was crucial to my preparation for attending college for my respective majors. My time-management and organizational skills were well developed due to my education at TJ. The opportunity to perform in the annual spring musical gave me excellent experience for the performing career that I have chosen to pursue.”
