Clayton Dunaway completed a Doctor of Arts degree in Woodwind Performance and Music Theory at Ball State University, and has taught courses at a number of colleges and universities across the Midwest. Dr. Dunaway, who joined the staff at TJ in 2017, is the recipient of several awards including First Prize Winner of the PSU Young Artist Clarinet Competition (2006), First Prize Winner of the Waddill Chamber Music Competition (2010), and Winner of the Southeast Kansas Symphony Orchestra Concerto & Aria Competition (2011). He maintains an active performance calendar, having appeared with groups such as the Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Marion Philharmonic Orchestra, Anderson Symphony, Kokomo Symphony, Springfield Regional Opera, Heartland Opera Theatre, Southeast Kansas Symphony, and Southern Symphony Orchestra.
