Richard Phipps, PhD
Rick Phipps is a well-traveled New Englander who came to TJ in 2019 from Myanmar and Lithuania. He has taught science in private schools since 2003. His dissertation explored the factors that affect nitrate loss in constructed wetlands. In the process, he collected more than 2,000 sediment cores for study in the laboratory. Dr. Phipps holds a Ph.D in Wetland Ecology from Iowa State University, a Master’s in Botany from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of Maine at Orono.
