Shauna Tharp came to TJ in 2016 after spending a couple years as an instructional coach and literacy leader at an urban magnet school in Kansas City.  She taught IB History of the Americas and 8^th grade history for several years there, while building a program to help incoming students develop necessary academic skills.  While currently acting as Director of Middle and Upper School, Mrs. Tharp has also served as the TJ’s Dean of Girls.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in International Relations and History.  She also holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University.
