On Friday, May 10, Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School (TJIDS) multi-sport senior athlete Sarah Mueller signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Rockhurst University, Kansas City, MO, running cross country and track.

At TJIDS, Mueller has played a significant role on the cross country, track, and basketball teams, all of which have had successful seasons this school year.

She not only qualified to compete at the MSHSAA State Cross Country meet, finishing 52nd, but also helped the Lady Cavaliers Basketball Team secure the Ozark 7 conference title and the first district championship since 1999. Most recently, she helped propel the Girls’ Track Team to win the Ozark 7 conference title and the district championship.

Along with a successful senior year for her athletics teams, Mueller was named First-Team All-Conference and Academic All-State for basketball and Honorable Mention for the Southwest Missouri Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region team.

When asked what it means to continue her athletic career at college, Mueller said, “Being able to continue running in college is such an honor. I’m looking forward to running these next years in college, and I couldn’t express enough my gratitude to all my cross country and track coaches and Athletic Director for making this possible.”

Mueller will graduate from TJIDS on Sunday, May 19, and begin her academic and athletic career at Rockhurst University this fall.
