Athletics

TJ’s philosophy of inclusivity means we encourage all students to participate in team and individual athletics. Middle School athletics are focused on skill building and participation; Upper School athletes compete and contribute to overall team success.

Athletics for All

Athletics for All

Thomas Jefferson believes in the value of athletics as part of an overall liberal arts education, and we encourage all Middle and Upper School students to participate on our sports teams — regardless of ability or experience.

From learning how to collaborate, to gaining time management skills, athletics fosters many skills in your child — skills that are valuable in college and in life.

Our inclusive athletics program means your child can test new capacities and discover new talents without fear of being cut from the team.

TJ’s teams are competitive, offering your gifted student-athlete plenty of opportunities to grow and excel.

TJ is a member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and the Ozark 7 Conference. During conference play, our teams compete against McAuley, College Heights, Wheaton, Verona, Exeter, and Golden City. To provide the widest variety of competition, we also compete with several other regional schools outside of our conference.

We encourage our TJ family and community members to come out and cheer on our Cavaliers. See our Calendar of Events for upcoming competitions.

We also invite members of the TJ Community to support our student-athletes through the TJ Athletic Boosters.

For more information about TJ athletics, please contact the Athletic Director at (417) 781-5124 x226.

“Our daughter decided to try basketball when she was a freshman. With her lack of experience, she wouldn’t have been able to play much at a larger school. At TJ, she received excellent coaching and a lot of on-court playing time. She realized talent she didn’t know she had, and ended her first season as one of the varsity starters.”
