Learning Life Skills on the Track
By participating in the Track & Field program at Thomas Jefferson, students gain so much more than the ability to run faster, jump higher, or throw farther. Your child increases his or her self-discipline, self-esteem, and self-confidence while learning how to work toward a goal.
Students develop patience, self-discipline, and the ability to be humble when winning and calm when losing—all marks of good sportsmanship.
Athletes do not need to have experience to participate in the Track & Field program. Our inclusive program allows all students to test new capacities and discover new talents without fear of being cut from the team.
Our Track & Field program is also highly competitive, providing opportunities for gifted and experienced athletes. TJ has consistently sent individuals to compete at the State meet. TJ athletes have earned district, conference, and state championships.
